  1. IMPORTANT - INSTALLATION INFORMATION

  4. If you have never installed HTML Validator before, you
  5. can ignore the rest of this file and install the software
  6. normally. Otherwise, please read the rest of this document.
  7.  
  8. If you have a 2.01A or older version of HTML Validator
  9. already installed, you should uninstall the older version
  10. before installing this version. However, doing so will
  11. reset the program and validator options. Remember to
  12. save the HTML Configuration file if you've modified it and
  13. wish to continue using it with the new version! To uninstall
  14. the old version, please use Add/Remove Programs
  15. in the Control Panel. Note that you may use the
  16. Pre-Setup Utility (presetup.exe) BEFORE uninstalling
  17. the previous version in order to save your old program
  18. options and registration information. This utility can be
  19. found at

  21. and should only be used when upgrading from version
  22. 2.01A or earlier to 2.5x. This utility is optional but is
  23. recommended for your convenience.

  25. If you have a 2.5x version (BETA or not) of HTML
  26. Validator already installed, you should simply reinstall
  27. over your current installation, without uninstalling the
  28. previous version.

  30. Your 2.00 registration key will work with this version of
  31. HTML Validator. However, you may need to reenter your
  32. registration name and key, especially if you uninstalled
  33. the previous version and did not use the Pre-Setup Utility.
  34. If you do not know your registration name and key but
  35. have an older, registered version on your system, look in
  36. the directory where it is installed and view the htmlval.key
  37. file with Notepad to determine your name and key. If you
  38. uninstalled the older version before viewing htmlval.key,
  39. the file may be deleted. If you still do not know your
  40. registration name and key, please visit
